The Timberwolves are converting the training camp contract of guard Daishen Nix to a two-way contract, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

The move follows Minnesota’s reported decision to waive Matt Ryan, who also has been on a two-way contract, as we relayed here.

Nix, 21, and spent his first two years in the NBA with the Rockets after playing for the G League Ignite out of high school. He averaged 4.0 points and 2.3 assists in 57 games with Houston last season.

Nix has been impressive with the Timberwolves in the preseason, averaging 6.0 points and 3.3 assists, shooting 57 percent from the field.

He joins center Luka Garza and shooting guard Jaylen Clark as the Timberwolves’ two-way players entering the season.
