Warriors Sign Usman Garuba to Two-Way Deal

The Warriors have signed center Usman Garuba to a two-way contract ahead of training camp, the team announced.

Garuba, 21, appeared in 75 games with the Rockets last season, averaging 3.0 points and 4.1 rebounds. He was acquired by the Thunder in a July trade with the Hawks in a deal that sent guard Patty Mills to Atlanta.

Garuba also spent his rookie year of 2021-22 with the Rockets and also played plenty for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the G League that season.

He was selected with the No. 23 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft after playing for Spanish power Real Madrid, where he was selected as a EuroLeague Rising Star.
